Rhyme in Detail
Rhyme Psycho-Neuro Therapy Clinic was founded in 2023 by Erfaneh Razavipour, PhD, a social work researcher and psychotherapist based in Ontario. With over 15 years of experience working with diverse communities, particularly migrants, Erfaneh became deeply committed to improving mental health care after observing the complex struggles people face around trauma, identity, and adjustment.
Drawing on her academic research in social work and her clinical training in neuroscience and particularly neurofeedback, Erfaneh envisioned a more integrated approach — one that combines psychotherapy with neurofeedback to strengthen emotional healing and cognitive resilience. Recognizing the limitations of traditional therapies alone, she founded Rhyme Clinic to bridge evidence-based psychotherapy with cutting-edge neurofeedback techniques.
Today, Rhyme Clinic is one of the few centers in Ontario offering this combined approach. In addition to her clinical work, Erfaneh has taught at McGill University, contributed to several scholarly publications, and remains active in research on mental health, migration, and neurotherapy.

More About Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is a scientifically supported, non-invasive technique that helps regulate brain function by providing real-time feedback on brain activity. It is based on the principle of neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to reorganize and adapt to new patterns, leading to improved mental and emotional well-being.
What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback, also called EEG (electroencephalogram) biofeedback, is a method that trains the brain to function more efficiently. It involves monitoring brainwave activity and using that information to help individuals improve focus, emotional regulation, and overall cognitive performance.
This approach has been extensively researched and applied in fields such as anxiety and stress management, ADHD treatment, trauma recovery, and sleep improvement. Unlike medication, neurofeedback does not introduce external substances into the body, making it a safe and side-effect-free alternative for long-term mental health enhancement.
How Does Neurofeedback Work?
- Brainwave Monitoring – Small sensors are placed on the scalp to measure brainwave activity (EEG). These sensors only read brain signals; they do not emit any electrical stimulation.
- Real-Time Feedback – The recorded brain activity is displayed on a computer and linked to a visual or auditory stimulus, such as a video, game, or sound.
- Brain Training Process – When the brain operates in an optimal pattern, the feedback rewards it (e.g., the video continues playing). When it deviates from the desired state, the feedback signals an adjustment (e.g., the video pauses).
- Self-Regulation & Improvement – Over multiple sessions, the brain learns to recognize and sustain healthy activity.
